With frigid temperatures and icy conditions expected across the Piedmont Triad for the next two days, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is moving to Condition I: Reduced Operations from 7 p.m. tonight (January 28) through 7 a.m. Saturday, January 31.
Classes will be held remotely during that span, but students should be in touch with faculty members for details and expectations for their individual class or laboratory participation.
The annual February One breakfast and program commemorating the A&T Four scheduled for this Friday will not take place. University officials are exploring additional options for the event, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
As a reminder, under Condition I, the university remains open, but certain non-mandatory operations may be reduced due to more limited staff. Mandatory employees must report to or remain at work. All other employees have the option to report late, leave early or not work at all. Any employee with questions should confer with their direct supervisor. Consult the attached chart for additional info on adverse weather condition levels.
Employees and students are urged to exercise caution in moving around campus and driving to and from campus. Low temperatures have not allowed snow and ice to evaporate, and slick conditions on sidewalks and roads are making travel difficult.
