EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (July 21, 2025) – An accomplished leader with validated ability to manage complex talent initiatives and lead dynamic teams and an experienced leader in compensation strategy and total rewards across multiple sectors have joined North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University’s Division of Human Resources in key directorial roles.
Gina “Marq” Rogers has been named director of N.C. A&T’s Center for Leadership and Organizational Excellence (CLOE), while Peter “Pete” Gresens has been named director of classification and compensation.
Rogers, who joined the university in March, brings a wealth of experience and proven track record in leadership development and organizational development. She has demonstrated leadership in change management, program architecture and management of a deep portfolio of professional development offering aimed at increasing individual, team and organizational effectiveness and health.
CLOE is dedicated to providing high-quality leadership training resources and support, enterprise-wide. Rogers will oversee the center’s initiatives to enhance leadership skills and organizational effectiveness across the university.
Under Rogers’ leadership, CLOE aims to expand its programs, amplify its outreach efforts and improve engagement and participation in professional development offerings, ensuring that A&T honors its commitment to professional development.
Gresens, who joined the university in April, has held key compensation leadership roles at Circuit City, YRC Worldwide, Rockwell Collins, Hewitt Associates, Ameritech, Whirlpool Corp., and Towers Perrin, where he led strategic initiatives to align compensation programs with global business objectives, workforce planning, and talent retention strategies.
As the former director of Compensation Strategy at Volvo Group North America, Gresens spent a decade developing and implementing compensation, benefits, and recognition programs to enhance employee engagement and organizational performance. His leadership in market data analysis, incentive program design, and HR technology implementation has driven operational efficiency and competitive compensation structures in complex, multi-entity organizations. He also served as an independent consultant working with senior management and human resources leadership teams on the development of market-competitive total rewards for the Virginia Community College System, VCU Health, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
A Certified Compensation Professional and Senior Professional in Human Resources, Gresens holds a JD and MBA from the University of Richmond and a B.S. in mathematics from Vanderbilt University. His legal expertise enhances his deep knowledge of compensation laws, Fair Labor Standards Act regulations and incentive plan design. Described as a “unicorn” in compensation for his rare blend of skills and the “pizza math guy” for his commitment to complex compensation analyses, he is known for his strategic leadership, analytical acumen and ability to mentor teams.Media Contact Information: jtorok@ncat.edu
