Collins Aerospace is a business of RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company.
Last year, the College of Engineering partnered with Collins Aerospace to provide collaborative aerospace technology research opportunities that benefit both parties
Through this collaboration, staff at Collins Aerospace and A&T faculty and students work together to “enable rapid development and execution of fundamental research in areas critical to future aerospace technologies,” including materials science, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and sustainability.
This partnership also marked the first time Collins Aerospace, a division of aerospace and defense company RTX, has established a research agreement with a historically Black college or university.
“Collins Aerospace’s partnership with North Carolina A&T reflects a shared vision of fostering innovation, excellence, and student success,” said Ralisha Mercer, associate vice chancellor for development at North Carolina A&T. “This named space will provide a vital platform for learning and collaboration, preparing students to lead in aerospace and engineering.
