EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 4, 2023) – The John R. and Kathy R. Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is hosting a health and human sciences career day Wednesday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Deese Ballroom 205 at the Student Center.
The event is intended to connect students with industry partners and graduate programs in health and human sciences careers, in alignment with the Hairston College’s priority goals of educating a diverse health-care workforce, community engagement, and research.
The Hairston College offers six undergraduate degree programs: health services management, kinesiology, nursing, psychology, speech studies, social work and sociology. It also offers a master’s degree in health psychology, a master’s degree in social work, and a doctorate in social work, with a physician assistant studies master’s degree program soon to be established. The graduate degrees in social work are jointly administered with UNC-Greensboro.
The Hairston College is also home to the new Center of Excellence in Integrative Health Disparities and Equity Research (CIHDER).
A fitness and wellness event also is planned for Thursday, April 6, from noon to 1 p.m. in Student Center Room 232. This event will provide the university’s students, faculty and staff with an opportunity to engage in physical activities that promote positive mental health and well-being.
