EAST GREENSBORO (May 25, 2021) – F.D. Bluford Library received a $34,200 donation from Bank of America to gain access to The HistoryMakers Digital Archive. HistoryMakers is the largest African American oral history archive in the United States, and it is now available to all faculty, staff and students at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University for the next two years.
“The HistoryMakers is an incredible resource for researchers," said Vicki Coleman, dean of Library Services. "It provides access to untold personal stories of African Americans and offers insight into how their past contributions have shaped America. We are appreciative of the generosity of Bank of America and their decision to fund this resource over the next two years.”
This gift also includes funding for two Student Ambassador positions. These students will help the Aggie community navigate, use, and integrate the archive into their research and learning.
HistoryMakers can be accessed on the library's homepage via our Quick Search box. Under the library's Quick Search box, selected H under "View databases by Title," and scroll down to find the HistoryMakers database.
