Director's Message

Greetings, 

I am Oliver M. Thomas, and I am serving as the Interim Director of External Affairs, having joined the Office of the Chancellor in April 2021.

Central to the work of the Office of External Affairs is building and maintaining productive relationships.

As the Interim Director of External Affairs, I serve as the point of contact, promoting the university’s priorities with local, state and federal elected officials, state agencies, higher education stakeholders, alumni and others who play a role in advancing and supporting policy and legislation that align with North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. North Carolina A&T is a true leader in higher education striving to fulfill the goals in our strategic plan, “A&T Preeminence: Taking the Momentum to 2023”.  

Our strategic plan has proven transformative for the university, the City of Greensboro, the State of North Carolina, and the nation, in part because of our valuable relationship with you, our stakeholders. Your efforts to advance our legislative and budgetary priorities have been tremendous.
