The 21st century and its global enterprise are here with advances in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The knowledge explosion in STEM over the past decades is unquestionably overwhelming.

Who We Are

The Department of Applied Engineering Technology offers comprehensive undergraduate and graduate degree programs leading to the BS Degree in Applied Engineering Technology, BS Degree in Automotive Engineering Technology, MS Degree in Technology Management, and PhD Degree in Applied Science and Technology.  Our BS Degree in Applied Engineering Technology is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org.  Both of our BS degree programs are accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). 

Our programs serve the diverse needs of students who are interested in pursuing careers in engineering and technology enterprises and government agencies. Our curricula focus on applied science and engineering as well as hands-on learning activities and projects. Our degree programs enable students to apply basic science and engineering principles, technical and management skills to secure application-oriented technical and management positions. Graduates of our degree programs are successful in securing employment in industry and government. Positions typically include automation engineer, design engineer, enterprise manager, logistics engineer, manufacturing engineer, production supervisor, quality engineer, automotive engineer, automotive manager, engine engineer, motorsports engineer, motorsports manager, and NASCAR related areas.

Our graduates are highly sought-after and working for 3D Systems, 3M, Amazon, AT&T, Atlas Copco, Bank of America, Boeing, Cargill, Caterpillar, Collins Aerospace, Cummins, Eaton, Gilbarco Veeder-Root, Goodyear, HAECO, John Deere, Lockheed Martin, Lowe’s, Mannington, Milliken, PepsiCo, Pratt & Whitney, Regal Beloit, Toyota, United Technologies, Volvo, Xerox, and many others. Some of our graduates started their own technology companies. Many of our graduates chose to pursue advanced degrees in engineering or technology management.
