The Bachelor of Science degree program in Applied Engineering Technology (AET) at North Carolina A&T State University is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org.

Graduates of the Department of Applied Engineering Technology contribute to society as productive professionals and engaged citizens by:

  1. Delivering services and products by applying technical knowledge, problem-solving techniques, hands-on skills, and modern tools in established and emerging areas of engineering technology.
  2. Communicating effectively in technical and non-technical environments.
  3. Working effectively in teams and assuming leadership roles while modeling ethical, respectful and professional behavior.
  4. Recognizing the impact of engineering technology solutions in a societal and global context.
  5. Pursuing continuous professional development and lifelong learning.

 

Graduates of the Department of Applied Engineering Technology will achieve the following learned capabilities:

  1. An ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, or technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems.
  2. An ability to design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems.
  3. An ability to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in both technical and non-technical environments, and an ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature.
  4. An ability to conduct standard tests, measurements, and experiments and to analyze and interpret the results to improve processes.
  5. An ability to function effectively as a member or leader on a technical team.
