Education and Training
The education objective of the CIHDER Education Core is to develop a cadre of future scholars and leaders in Health Equity & Disparities research. This will be accomplished through:
- Providing education and training opportunities for students and early career professionals at all levels.
- Providing support and professional development opportunities for junior faculty and early career investigators through structured mentoring, cross collaborations, and seed funding opportunities.
- Providing support and professional development opportunities for our scholars through mentoring, research opportunities and professional development activities.
Education Programs Currently Offered:
- CIHDER Ambassadors Program
A program open to current undergraduate students at North Carolina A&T State University who are interested in health disparities and health equity research, advocacy and policy work. CIHDER Ambassadors receive training in health disparities and community engagement, access to professional development workshops, and internships through our Stakeholder Affiliates.

🎉🎊Class of Fall 2025🎉🎊
A program designed to develop future experts and scholars in health disparities and equity research. Through this program students and early career behavioral, clinical and biomedical professionals receive intensive training in theory, methodology and applied experience in health disparities. We offer opportunities for high school, undergraduate and graduate students as well as early career professionals (postdoctoral scholars). Funding for fellows will come from supplement grants, gifts and other funding sources.
