Community Engagement

The community engagement objectives of CIHDER are:

  1. Develop mechanisms for establishing lasting relationships with minority communities necessary for improving overall health by advancing health disparities research and achieving health equity.
  2. Serve as a pipeline for health disparities researchers and health professionals who will engage minority communities and work to alleviate health and equity disparities.

Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences and CIHDER (Center for Integrative Health Disparity and Equity Research) are co-hosting the Annual NC Counts Conference on September 20th from 10a-4p in the NC A&T Alumni Center. 
NC Counts Coalition is a nonpartisan, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization committed to building a healthy, just, and equitable North Carolina through cross-sector partnerships that advance systemic solutions for communities facing systemic barriers, including BIPOC communities, LGBTQ+, low-wealth, immigrant, and other communities.
