Minimum Requirements:

  • Student must have and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or greater.
  • Student must have an attempted hour/earned hour completion rate of 80 percent: Unless the student is a double major or a transfer student, he/she should not have attempted more than 126 hours.
  • Student must be enrolled full-time (undergrad-12 hrs, graduate-9 hrs) in the current session to be eligible for employment. (For summer sessions, if not enrolled in a summer session you must be registered for the upcoming fall semester).
  • Student must have a good judicial standing as determined by the University's Student Conduct Office.
  • Student must submit a current academic schedule.
  • Student must submit a completed application for employment. (Only applications that have been typed and signed will be accepted).
  • Student must submit an unofficial transcript.
  • Student must submit a typed resume.

Information Desk

Serves as a primary point of contact for customers in the Student Center and is responsible for all aspects of customer-service throughout the facility. Staff will also maintain the paperwork, assist the administrative staff, and additional duties as assigned by the area manager. Student will also be responsible for financial transactions. Also, other duties as assigned by the Student Center Coordinator.

Event Support

Performs set up and break down of events such as tables, chairs, staging, etc. Assist with audio/visual event needs when necessary, and completes equipment and resource inventory. Also, minor cleaning associated with Student Center event spaces, clean whiteboards, empty garbage containers, vacuum, etc. Also, other duties as assigned by the Student Center Coordinator.

Recreation & Gaming

Provide customer service to students who utilize the service. Maintain inventory of gaming and video equipment. Accurate record keeping and check out the system for recreation and gaming equipment. Also, perform general upkeep of the area. Also, other duties as assigned by the Student Center Coordinator.

Loading Dock

Provide excellent customer service to all drivers, vendors, and visitors to the area (ex. assisting with directions and answering questions). Provide traffic direction and regulate parking. Maintain a shipping and receiving database as well as an accurate record of all inbound vehicles. Answer telephone calls and maintain the organization of all equipment (ex. dollies, hand trucks, pallet jacks, vehicles (vans, carts, gators, etc.)) and cleanliness of the Loading Dock area. Driver’s license is required and utility cart and van certifications are required upon employment. Also, other duties as assigned by the Student Center Coordinator.

Building Monitor

Serves as a point of contact for customers in the Student Center and is responsible for working with building managers and administrative staff by patrolling the Student Center to include lobby areas, stairwells, exterior and interior entrances/exits, and other areas within or immediately around the building. While patrolling on foot monitors should be check and report damages, unlocked doors, unusual activities, unauthorized events/large gatherings, emergency conditions, alcohol violations, drug violations, and/or other violations of university policy/student handbook. Staff also assists with clearing the building at closing.

Building Manager

Serves as a primary point of contact for customers using the Student Center and is responsible for all aspects of customer service throughout the facility. Staff will also complete the required paperwork, assist with phone/van usage, marketing Student Center activities, and maintain the Recreation Room as needed. This position serves as the building representative in lieu of full-time staff to assist, supervise, and coordinate the overall operation of the facility. Also, other duties as assigned by the Student Center Coordinator.

Student Social Media & Marketing Coordinator:

Develop and implement strategies to market department services and amenities. Managing and creating content for SC social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, etc.). Creating flyers for SC leisure programs and tournaments. Student employee engagement. Work and coordinate schedules for information tables at university related fairs and events on behalf of the department. Coordinate video marketing projects for SC marketing. Coordinate monthly awareness information tables. Plan, implement, execute, and market annual Student Appreciation Week.

Student Admin Manager:  

Perform administrative functions including filing, staff scheduling, recordkeeping, and copying documents. Organize paperwork as needed to create employee attendance reports. Create and maintain overall schedule for student employees in service areas.  Organize the interview process for new hires. Conduct initial training with new employees to discuss departmental policies and procedures. Assist with market research, benchmarking, assessment creations. Assist with the planning, execution, and marketing of recreational tournaments. Serve in the role of building manager as needed. Manage Social Media and Marketing Coordinator. Any additional duties assigned by supervisor.
