Safe Zone Training
Safe Zone is an educational program available to all N.C. A&T faculty, staff, and students who want to actively contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming campus environment. The training equips participants with tools to better understand diverse identities and lived experiences, address bias, and help create an atmosphere of trust, respect, and belonging across the university community.
About the Training
Safe Zone is offered free of charge throughout the year as a two-part series. It provides space for participants to reflect on issues related to equity, explore models of identity development, and consider the personal and social challenges that some individuals may encounter. Through guided discussions and interactive activities, participants develop skills that strengthen dialogue, collaboration, and community building.
Becoming Safe Zone Trained
The program is designed for those who wish to take an active role in promoting respect and inclusion within their campus areas. Individuals who complete the training and choose to be recognized as visible supporters receive an N.C. A&T Safe Zone placard to display in their workspace, signaling their commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all.
