The Meditation & Reflection Room
The Office of Intercultural Engagement (OIE) offers a dedicated space for meditation, reflection, and quiet personal time for the entire N.C. A&T State University community. This space is intended to support well-being, belonging, and balance by providing an environment for prayer, meditation, contemplation, or silent reflection.
Location: Student Center, Room 309 (3rd floor)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Closed on weekends and when the University is closed.
Guidelines for Use
To ensure this room remains a welcoming and respectful space for everyone, please follow these guidelines:
- Access is first-come, first-served; please be considerate of others wishing to use the space. stay.
- Limit time in the room to 30 minutes to allow shared use.
- Multiple individuals may use the space at the same time; respect and sensitivity are expected.
- The room is reserved only for meditation, reflection, prayer, or silent observance. It is not for studying, lounging, meetings, or sleeping.
- Maintain quiet at all times; cell phones should be silenced.
- Use headphones if listening to music for reflection.
- Food and beverages are discouraged.
- No candles, incense, oils, or flammable items are permitted.
- Do not post signs, bring in furniture, or remove items from the space.
- Leave the room in its original condition for the next user.
Reporting Concerns
- Misuse of the room or violations of these guidelines may result in restricted access and could be addressed under the University Student Code of Conduct.
