New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation (NSO) registration for new undergraduate students admitted to the term will open on Monday, 11/9 at 5pm, EST.  To date, all orientation sessions are planned as virtual events until further notice.

Here are a few important items to help prepare you for your virtual New Student Orientation, "The 1891 Experience"

  • The link to your virtual orientation platform will be released via your NSO confirmation email, upon registration. The orientation is comprised of interactive modules to introduce you to campus life, students, university resources, and academic support – including advisement and course registration information.
  • These modules are self-paced but you must complete your virtual NSO, within two weeks of the date that you registered for the session.  For EXAMPLE, if you registered for NSO on Monday, 11/9 then you are expected to complete the modules by Monday, 11/23.
  • Always check your university email for the latest information. If you have questions or concerns, please contact New Student Programs via email at orient@ncat.edu.  We are always here to assist!
  • Follow New Student Programs on Instagram and Twitter @ncatnsp to meet your incoming class peers and engage with our student leaders!

The mandatory New Student Orientation (NSO) occurs before the Fall and Spring semesters to introduce new students to many aspects of the University including student life, academic policies and the student code.  The goal of each New Student Orientation session is to make our students feel right at home the moment they step on campus.

Our New Student Orientation program is led by a dedicated staff of professionals and extensively trained student leaders.  Each student leader is hand selected and knows a wealth of information about the University.
