WELCOME WEEK is the official kick-off to the academic year at North Carolina A&T State University, featuring events to get you ready for an amazing year. Welcome Week is designed to create a meaningful experience for you that will:
  • Begin to build a sense of community
  • Assist you in adjusting to the learning environment
  • Provide you an opportunity to have and maintain meaningful relationships with students
  • Allow you to navigate the campus while discovering and accessing the multitude of resources.

Welcome Week Schedule

7PM - 9 PM
Campus Locator
Academic Quad - Behind the Student Center
Kick off Welcome Week under the stars! Enjoy music, games, giveaways, and meet other new students. This is the perfect way to start your first weekend as an Aggie with high energy, good vibes, and community.

9 AM - 1 PM
Campus Locator
Deese Ballroom - 2nd Floor of Student Center
Still learning your way around campus? Drop in to get one-on-one help navigating buildings, finding your classes, and learning key campus stops before the semester ramps up. ASLs will be available to guide you!

6 PM - 9 PM
NSP Game Night
Deese Ballroom - 2nd Floor of Student Center
Pull up for a fun night of games, competition, and connection! Enjoy board games, card games, trivia, and more. Bring your friends or make some new ones; everyone’s welcome.

 

10 AM - 5 PM
Aggie Scavenger Hunt
Murphy Hall, Suite 102

Ready for a challenge? Explore campus through our interactive scavenger hunt! Complete missions, visit key locations, and race to the finish. Prizes are limited, with the top prize awarded to the first participant to complete the hunt. Stop by Murphy Hall, Suite 102 starting at 10:00 a.m. to get started!

Self-Care & Safety Workshop
Student Center - Room 342 & 385

Take a wellness break with NSP! Choose between a relaxing yoga session or a hands-on self-defense class led by UPD officers. Learn ways to protect your mental, physical, and personal safety as you start your new semester.

 

6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
5v5 Basketball Tournament
Moore Gym

Get ready for a night of energy, music, and friendly competition! Join New Student Programs for a bracket-style 5v5 basketball tournament. Whether you're playing or cheering from the sidelines, enjoy live music from the DJ, great vibes, and a chance to connect with other students. Bring your A-game, your friends, and let's have some fun with NSP!

Saturday Service Day: NSP Park Clean-Up

Give back to the Greensboro community with NSP’s service day! Shuttles will transport students to our Adopt-A-Park location for a group clean-up effort. Earn service hours and make a positive impact while connecting with fellow Aggies.

Set your intentions for 2026! All supplies are provided as you create your personal vision board. Enjoy music, snacks, and affirmations in a positive, creative environment. Let’s manifest greatness together!

So You Wanna Be an ASL?

Interested in becoming an Aggie Success Leader? This mandatory informational session covers everything you need to know about the ASL role, application process, expectations, and tips for success. If you plan to apply, you must attend.

5 PM - 7 PM
Are You Smarter Than an ASL?
GCB 218

Get ready for a fun and competitive showdown at Are You Smarter Than an ASL? Students will go head-to-head with our Aggie Success Leaders in a high-energy trivia-style competition to see who really is the smartest on campus. Come cheer on your peers, test your knowledge, and enjoy a night of laughs, friendly competition, and Aggie Pride!

  • Begin to build a sense of community by encouraging a first-year class identity, fostering institutional pride and respect, acknowledging your individual responsibility to the community, as well as ownership of and responsibility for your college experience.
  • Assist you in your adjustment to the campus environment and campus life through academic and student development programs that enhance your capacity to lead and work with others from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Provide you with an opportunity to have and maintain meaningful relationships with students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community that will encourage academic and personal success during your first year and throughout your college experience.
  • Allow you to navigate the campus while discovering and accessing the multitude of resources and opportunities available at the University.
