Engaged with regional industries in AM technologies (robotics, 3D printing, smart manufacturing) to help embrace the 4th generation industrial revolution coined as “Industry 4.0.”

JMSP Productions, Inc. developed video footage with center faculty and students. 

Grant Proposals (Aug – Nov)
Affiliate faculty submitted proposals to different agencies (DoD, NASA and National Science Foundation) - 10 faculty from four different colleges with a total funding request of $8 million.

Publications (Aug – Nov)
Affiliate Faculty journal publications and conference proceedings in cyber design for additive manufacturing, AI in smart manufacturing, Industry 4.0., nano manufacturing, biomedical devices and supply chain management. (8 publications)

NSF Grant Writing Workshop jointly organized by Center of Excellence (Sept 20)
100+ faculty participated from different departments across A&T campus. Multi-investigator interdisciplinary teams collaborating for large-scale grant proposals to several federal agencies. 

Manufacturing Institutes USA - Advanced Manufacturing Workshop (Nov 6 – 8)
Co-Director, Dr. Salil Desai was an invited presenter and initiated collaborations with (1) America Makes and (2) MxD (Digital Manuf.) institutes in Washington, DC.

Centers of Excellence Research Symposium (Nov 15)
40+ faculty and students participated. Faculty funded by seed grants presented posters and research presentations for all three centers of excellence.
