Commencement Updates

Below are recent updates regarding the Spring 2021 Commencement Ceremony:

  • The first ceremony, at 8:30 a.m., is only for the spring 2021 graduates. They must report to Truist Stadium no later than 7:30 a.m.
  • The second ceremony, at 4 p.m., is only for spring, summer and fall 2020 graduates. They must report to Truist Stadium no later than 3 p.m.
  •  Graduates must attend the ceremony designated for their graduation year.
  • The deadline to RSVP for a QR code was Wednesday, April 21, 2021. For those that submitted an RSVP online, an email will be sent no later than Friday, May 7th with further instructions. For questions related to name cards, please email
  • Commencement packets (including tickets) will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the week of May 3-7, 2021, at Corbett Gym. Commencement packets (including tickets) also will be available from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 2021 at War Memorial Stadium, 510 Yanceyville St., Greensboro. A photo ID is required for pick-up. Packets and tickets will not be mailed.
  •  Graduates must wear regalia. The last day to order regalia to receive it in time for commencement was April 19, 2021. See links at the Registrar’s Office webpage. The links will take you to the Bookstore’s regalia order page. Accessories, such as tassels, will not be available for purchase the day of the ceremonies. For questions, please call (336) 334-7593.
  • For 2021 undergraduates, HONOR CORDS will be available for pick-up May 6-7, 2021, in Corbett Gym from Registrar’s Office staff. A photo ID is required for honor cord pick-up. All 2020 graduates were mailed their cords in 2020 and will not receive additional cords.   • Virtual commencement rehearsal will be posted the week of May 3-7, 2021, on the Registrar’s Office webpage to help explain commencement design and logistics for the ceremonies.
  • Graduates will only receive 2 tickets for guests. No exceptions. All people in attendance, including children, must have a ticket. Tickets are required and will not be replaced if lost or forgotten.
  • Truist Stadium’s Clear Bag Policy will be in effect and enforced for both ceremonies.
  • Both ceremonies are rain or shine events. Ponchos and collapsible umbrellas no larger than 40 inches are permitted.
  • Social distancing must be practiced and hand-sanitizing stations will be available at Truist Stadium.
  •  For the safety of all, masks must be worn correctly over the mouth and nose at all times on campus and in the stadium.
