Public Records

North Carolina A&T State University values openness and public access to information. Consistent with Chapter 132 of the North Carolina General Statutes, the university responds to requests for public records as required by law. Public records generally include materials made or received in connection with the conduct of public business, unless an exception applies by law. The information below outlines how to submit a public records request and provides guidance on the university’s public records process.

Requests for public records should be sent to public_records@ncat.edu 

Upon receipt of a request, the Public Records Officer will evaluate the request to determine whether the information may be provided under state or federal law. When appropriate, documents will be redacted to comply with applicable laws. Response times may be impacted by a number of factors including, the scope of the request, volume of the documents requested, a need to clarify the request.
