The Alvin V. Blount Jr. Student Health Center offers massage therapy! This is the hands-on manipulation of soft tissues and muscles of the body to promote good health and optimal body function.
After receiving a massage, most people experience overall muscle relaxation, decreased stress levels, increased circulation and flexibility with an overall feeling of physical, emotional, and spiritual well being.

Massage Therapy No-Show Policy
To promote fair and equitable access to massage therapy appointments, the Health & Wellness Department requires students, faculty, and staff to provide timely notice when they are unable to attend a scheduled appointment.
Cancellation and No-Show Requirements
Appointments must be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time. Cancellations may be submitted by telephone, voicemail, or email.
A no-show is defined as missing a scheduled appointment without providing the required notice or canceling/rescheduling in advance. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be considered a no-show and subject to the applicable fee.
No-shows will be tracked throughout each academic year and will reset at the beginning of the following academic year.
No-Show Fees- 1st No-Show: $25
- 2nd No-Show: $50
- 3rd No-Show: $75
- 4th and Subsequent No-Shows: $75 per occurrence
For students, the applicable no-show fee will be charged directly to the student account. University employees who are not enrolled students will be responsible for payment of the applicable fee in accordance with Health & Wellness payment procedures.
Health & Wellness Cancellations
Appointments canceled by the massage therapist or the Health & Wellness Department will not be considered no-shows, and no fee will be assessed.
Emergency and Extenuating Circumstances
We understand that emergencies and unexpected circumstances may occur. If an emergency or other extenuating circumstance prevents you from attending your appointment, please contact the Front Desk/Reception as soon as possible.
Requests to waive a no-show fee will be reviewed individually and at the discretion of Health & Wellness.
