Bio

Dr. Adewuyi is a professor of chemical and bioengineering NCA&T. Adewuyi’s research focuses on: Catalysis and Reaction Engineering; Environmental Chemical Engineering; Energy and Environment; Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering; and Sonochemistry, Cavitation Engineering and Advanced Oxidation Processes. He obtained his BS (Cum Laude) from Ohio University (1978) and MS/PhD from the University of Iowa (1980/1985), all in chemical engineering. Prior to joining NCAT, he was a senior staff/research engineer at Mobil R&D Corporation (now ExxonMobil). He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE); and received the AIChE M

Research Interests

Investigation of emerging areas of energy and environment, including catalysis, environmental reaction engineering; sustainable chemistry and engineering, synthesis of nanoscale materials for energy and environmental applications; sonochemistry, cavitation engineering, and advanced oxidation processes for water treatment and air pollution control; chemistry and kinetics of NOx, SO2 and Hg removal; cost estimation of advanced water and wastewater treatment processes; biofuels and synthesis and biomass conversion to chemicals and fuels; and fuels desulfurization and natural gas upgrading.
