Dr. Chakrabarty received his PhD degree in Management from Mays Business School, Texas A&M University. At the University of Texas – El Paso, he received the College of Business Administration's Teaching Excellence Award (Management). At the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, he received the College of Business Administration's Distinguished Teaching Award.

He has published his research work in Journal of International Business Studies, Management International Review, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of Business Ethics, Thunderbird International Business Review, Journal of International Management, Academy of Management Review, Asian Business & Management, Information & Management, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, and other journals.

Research Interests

As of May 2019, Dr. Chakrabarty's research articles have been cited more than a thousand times. Dr. Chakrabarty has a total of 16 publications in academic journals. Of these, 11 publications are in journals with a 2017 5-year impact factor of greater than 2.0. Further, 11 publications are in journals that are rated as either A or A* on the ABDC journal rankings list. Furthermore, 7 publications are in journals that are on the 2006 Financial Times top 40 journal ranking list. Also, he is the single-author on 2 articles, the first author on 8 articles, and equal author on 1 article.

Dr. Chakrabarty gained organizational leadership and administration experiences in multiple ways — in entrepreneurship, in the aerospace industry, in the automobile industry, in the software industry, and in academia. Prior to his PhD, he worked in the industry with diverse organizational leadership and administration experiences.
