Our Master of Science in Adult Education program is designed to empower individuals to become adult educational professionals in various fields, including community colleges, 4-year higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, and for-profit businesses. With emphasis on culturally respectful andragogical concepts and practices, our curriculum aligns with the standards established by the American Association of Adult and Continuing Education's Commission of Professors of Adult Education. We take pride in preparing our candidates for doctoral programs in adult education and lifelong learning, and across other related disciplines, ensuring a well-rounded academic journey. We are incredibly proud to be #1 in producing African American professionals and leaders who are committed to supporting lifelong learning in a variety of formal and non-formal adult educational contexts.

When it comes to our Master of School Administration program, we focus on creating culturally responsive leaders who can make a positive impact in marginalized communities. Graduates of this program are equipped to take on leadership roles such as assistant principals, principals, administrators, and superintendents. Our curriculum draws inspiration from established standards and guidelines, emphasizing essential components like challenging curriculum, effective instruction, and culturally responsive pedagogy, all contributing to student achievement and growth. We are committed to providing a variety of program tracks to cater to the diverse needs of our candidates and ensure they possess the knowledge and skills to lead in schools.

For those seeking to become transformative scholars in the field of leadership, our Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership Studies program offers an interdisciplinary journey of discovery. We actively seek individuals who have excelled in their leadership roles within their organizations, as we believe their experience will enrich their research inquiries into leadership theory and promising practices. Many of our esteemed alumni have secured prestigious positions as college presidents, senior level higher education administrators, leadership rankings within the military, police, and governmental sectors, and C-suite leadership roles in a range of organizations. 

Here at N.C. A&T, in the College of Education, and within the Department of Leadership Studies and Adult Education, research is a cornerstone of our graduate programs, and we encourage all of our candidates to engage in meaningful research and experiential learning projects alongside our wonderful faculty. Our faculty and candidates actively participate in professional organizations and present their research at various conferences, showcasing their dedication to the advancement of knowledge.
