Resources for Value-Added Products

The Agriculture Business Innovation Center (ABIC) provides Resources for Value-Added Products to help small farmers, agriculture and food business owners, and aspiring agri-entrepreneurs transform raw agricultural commodities into higher-value products that can increase profitability, expand market opportunities, and strengthen business sustainability. Through technical assistance, training, and consultation, ABIC supports participants in identifying value-added opportunities, developing new products, evaluating market potential, and navigating the business decisions necessary to bring innovative agricultural products to market.

ABIC connects participants with subject matter experts, research-based resources, and specialized facilities to support product development, processing, marketing, food safety compliance, packaging, labeling, financial analysis, and commercialization strategies. Leveraging partnerships across North Carolina A&T State University and collaborating institutions, ABIC helps entrepreneurs move ideas from concept to market by providing guidance on value-added marketing, niche market identification, consumer demand, product innovation, and business incubation opportunities. The goal is to empower agricultural producers and food entrepreneurs to create competitive, market-ready products that generate new revenue streams and contribute to long-term business growth and rural economic development
