Aggie Academic Emerging Program

The Aggie Academic Emerging Program (AAEP) is a summer academic coaching initiative designed to support students taking courses during Summer Session I, Session II, or both. The program primarily serves at-promise emerging scholars who are on academic probation or suspension. Based on caseload availability, students outside those categories are also welcome to participate. Each AAEP participant meets weekly with a dedicated academic coach — their primary accountability partner — and takes part in the Emerging Scholars Workshop Series to strengthen foundational academic skills.

Target Population
At-promise emerging scholars on academic probation or suspension. Additional students may participate based on caseload availability.

Program Participants Will:

  • Meet weekly with a dedicated academic coach for one-on-one accountability and goal setting.
  • Participate in the Emerging Scholars Workshop Series covering time management, organization, study skills, and note taking.
  • Develop the academic habits and strategies needed to restore and maintain good academic standing.

    Fall & Spring Semesters

The Academic Momentum Program (AMP) provides academic coaching support throughout the fall and spring semesters. Graduate Assistant academic coaches are embedded within each academic college at NC A&T, as well as in specialized support areas, ensuring students receive coaching that is contextual to their academic community. All AMP participants also engage in weekly study hall sessions for added structure and accountability throughout the semester.

    Target Population
Students across all academic colleges, as well as students served through OARS, Military-Affiliated student services, and the NC A&T STEM Early College program.

    Program Participants Will:

    • Be assigned a Graduate Assistant academic coach within their academic college or designated support area.
    • Meet regularly with their academic coach to set goals, monitor academic progress, and build effective academic strategies.
    • Attend weekly study hall sessions for additional accountability and structured academic support.
