North Carolina A&T State University - Public Safety Department welcomes Aggies, alumni, families, friends and visitors back to Aggieland for the Greatest Homecoming on Earth!

As we celebrate this historic 100th Homecoming, the North Carolina A&T Department of Public Safety, in partnership with our local, county, and state public safety partners, is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for everyone.

With thousands of people joining us for this celebration, each of us has a role in keeping Aggieland safe. We're asking everyone to be present, be aware and THINK SAFETY FIRST.

HAVE A PLAN

  • Plan your activities and purchase tickets from official or approved sources.
  • Know where you are going and how you will get there and back.
  • Park in designated areas and remember where you parked.
  • Stay with your group whenever possible, especially at night.
  • Keep your phone charged and make sure you can communicate with members of your group.
  • Designate a sober driver or arrange safe transportation in advance.

BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS

  • Stay alert and pay attention to the people and activity around you.
  • Avoid distractions from your phone while walking, particularly near roadways, parking areas and large crowds.
  • Trust your instincts. If something does not look or feel right, move to a safe location and notify Public Safety.
  • Do not attempt to intervene in suspicious or dangerous situations. Be a good witness, move to safety and call for help.
  • In an emergency, follow instructions from law enforcement, emergency personnel and university officials.

CELEBRATE RESPONSIBILITY

  • If you choose to consume alcohol and are of legal drinking age, do so responsibly
Never drink and drive or ride with an impaired driver.
  • Never leave a drink unattended or accept an open drink from someone you do not know or trust.
  • Look out for your friends. Arrive together, check on one another and make sure everyone has a safe way home.
  • Hydration is a safety measure. Drink plenty of water and keep your body prepared for the day.

PROTECT YOUR PROPERTY

  • Carry only what you need and keep your personal belongings secure.
  • Keep phones, wallets, purses and other valuables close to you, particularly in crowded areas.
  • Lock your vehicle and never leave valuables, firearms or other items visible inside.
  • Keep residence hall, apartment and hotel doors locked.
  • Never share keys, access cards, credentials or other means of building access with unauthorized individuals.

SEE SOMETHING. SAY SOMETHING.

You are an important part of our safety team.

If you see suspicious behavior, a weapon, a dangerous situation or anything that concerns you, report it immediately. Do not assume someone else has already reported it.

For emergencies, call 911.
For non-emergency assistance, contact the North Carolina A&T University Police Department at 336-334-7675.
