Bio

Dr. Mookesh Dhanasar has been trained in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics and Mathematics. His research areas include high speed aircraft geometry, hypersonic propulsion engine systems design, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), small satellites power and propulsion systems and nuclear in-space propulsion systems design. He is an established STEM educator with over 17 yrs experience at the college/university level. Dr. Dhanasar has taught a variety of STEM courses and mentored and advised undergraduate and graduate students. He is a passionate educator and researcher; always motivating his students to succeed. Dr. Dhanasar has developed and taught courses in Mechanical Engineering that include; Renewable Energy Systems, Senior Design Capstone Project; Introduction to Nuclear Energy, Energy Conversion Systems; Internal Combustion Engines; Heat Transfer; Graphics for Mechanical Engineers, and Introduction to Engineering Design and Ethics.

Research Interests

Main areas of research include: (1) Hypersonics, Scramjet Combustion, (2) Small satellite (cube-sat) propulsion, power, and science payload sub-systems, (3) Heat transfer modeling and simulations, (4) Nuclear Space Systems (power &/ propulsion), (5) Renewable energy and energy conversion systems, and (6) Engineering Education.
