Bio

Dr. Aixi Zhou /ahy-shee joh/ is Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Applied Engineering Technology at N.C. A&T. Prior to this appointment, he held positions at UNC Charlotte, Virginia Tech, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and UC San Diego. His research interests and publications are in the areas of fire protection, materials and structures, manufacturing, and engineering education. He is the author or co-author of more than 100 technical publications and textbooks Applied Engineering Design, Applied Engineering Experiments, and Advanced Engineering Experiments. Dr. Zhou is a licensed Professional Engineer. He is a Fellow of SFPE. He currently serves as a Commissioner in the Engineering Accreditation Commission at ABET.

Fire protection, materials and structures, manufacturing, engineering education.
