Interdisciplinary Environmental Certificate Program (IECP)

This interdisclinary program offers four post-baccalaureate certificates designed to train students with in-depth knowledge to develop innovative and creative solutions to improve and sustain the environment. Graduate Certificates Offered: Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Justice, and Environmental Health and Safety.

Interdisciplinary Environmental Engineering Certificate (IEEC)

Students will learn the application and understanding of technical skills needed to solve infrastructure issues and knowledge of mathematical modeling for systems-level thinking. Certificate coursework: 15 total credit hours in courses from the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the College of Engineering.

Interdisciplinary Environmental Sciences Certificate (IESC):

Students will be exposed to applications and understanding of environmental regulations, risk assessment, environmental impacts, social and economic impact on humans, and knowledge of pollutant measurements and interpretations. Certificate coursework: 15 total credit hours in courses from the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the College of Engineering.

Interdisciplinary Environmental Justice Certificate (IEJC):

Students will acquire knowledge of social justice dynamics and awareness of relevant public policies (local, state, federal) that impact environmental decision making, economic activity, and the environment, as well as explore the history of environmental justice and ethical considerations of environmental decision making. Certificate coursework: 15 total credit hours in courses from the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the College of Science and Technology.

Interdisciplinary Environmental Health and Safety Certificate (IEHC)

Students will acquire knowledge of health and safety challenges in the workplace, home and public spaces, chemical, physical, biological hazards and their controls, toxicological impacts of exposure to hazards, and environmental regulations. Certificate coursework: 15 total credit hours in courses from the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the College of Science and Technology.
