Message from the Dean

Welcome to the Graduate College's website. The Graduate College exemplifies North Carolina A&T State University's tradition of excellence in learning, discovery and engagement. We are proud of our unique approach to the graduate enterprise that comprises the combined efforts of an intercultural faculty and staff, a diverse student population, and an unparalleled research and learning experience. Our alumni are leading thinkers and innovators in a variety of fields, seeking to improve life for all in the 21st century and beyond.

Our state of the art research centers and facilities include the NASA Center for Aviation Safety, the NSF Engineering Research Center for Revolutionizing Metallic Biomaterials, the NOAA-Interdisciplinary Scientific Environmental Technology Center, the Center for Post-Harvest Technologies, the Interdisciplinary Center for Entrepreneurship and E-Business and the recently established Joint School for Nanoscience and Nanoengineering.  An overview of our research can be gleaned by downloading our research brochure.

The Graduate College at North Carolina A&T State University offers 9 doctoral degree programs (12 concentrations), 29 master's degree programs (46 concentrations), one post-master’s certificate program, and 8 post-baccalaureate certificate programs in collaboration with the following schools and colleges: Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Arts, Humanities, and Social sciences, Business and Economics, Education, Engineering, Health and Human Services, Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, and the College of Science and Technology.  Currently, six graduate programs including one doctoral program, five master’s programs and one post-baccalaureate certificate program are available through distance education. 

According to the 2015 US News and World Report, the Rehabilitation Counseling program is ranked #58, the Industrial and Systems Engineering program is ranked #69; the Social Work program (joint with UNCG) is ranked #104, and the Mechanical Engineering program is ranked #128.  In addition, the online Graduate Information Technology program is ranked #16, and the online Graduate Education programs are ranked #125.  Furthermore, N.C. A&T is ranked #16 out of 26 programs in the Best Online Graduate Computer Information Technology Programs for Veterans, and #112 out of 156 Best Online Graduate Education Programs for Veterans.
