Donations To F.D. Bluford Library

F.D. Bluford Library serves as an essential leader and partner in the university’s pursuit of transformative learning and teaching, interdisciplinary research, innovative solutions to global challenges, and civic outreach. Your donation contributes to our mission to serve as the intellectual hub of this campus and to support the success of students, faculty, staff, and the Aggies everywhere. We accept both financial and in-kind gifts to our collections.

Financial

To make a financial gift to the library:

Books, Manuscripts, Documents, etc.

We appreciate the generosity of those who would like to donate materials for our collections. Unfortunately, F.D. Bluford Library is unable to accept gifts for the general circulating print collections because of constraints on shelving space, as well as significant costs for evaluating and processing gifts of tangible personal property. This change is aligned with the library’s aim to develop, maintain, and enhance user-focused, demand-driven, and network-based collections that reflect the strengths of the university. Our students and faculty are using many more e-resources as methods of instruction evolve and for convenience of access.

  • Donations of rare books, private papers, and exceptional materials should be directed to James Stewart, Archives & Special Collections Librarian: jrstewa1@ncat.edu.
  •  If you have other questions about making a donation, contact Tiffany Russell, the Budget and Collection Administrator: tbrussel@ncat.edu.

While the library appreciates all the support it receives, the institution is unable to accept every donation of materials. Please contact us to see if your donation meets F.D. Bluford Library's needs.

When the library accepts a gift, the gift becomes the property of North Carolina A&T State University & F.D. Bluford Library. If the gift giver owns the copyrights to the materials, F.D. Bluford Library may ask to become the copyright holders so that the library is able to freely share these materials with the community to advance learning.

F.D. Bluford Library reserves the right to determine whether the gift will be retained, where it will be located, and how it will be cataloged and circulated.
