Research in Mathematics and Statistics

Fields of Expertise

Math Aggies DoThe Department of Mathematics & Statistics features several tenured and tenure track faculty who are active across several sub-disciplines of the
mathematical sciences and involved in interdisciplinary work. However, our research areas are primarily divided into six main categories: Data Science & Statistics, Dynamical Systems and Differential Equations, Mathematics Education, Mathematical Modeling and Analysis, Mathematics Education, Numerical Analysis and Fluid Dynamics, and Pure Mathematics and Applied Analysis. In addition to these, faculty are actively working in the areas of Applied Physics, Atmospheric Science, Computational Science and Engineering, Fractional Calculus, Genetics and Genomics, Financial Mathematics, Image and Signal Processing, Information Assurance, Mathematical Biology, Neuroscience, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Toxicology and other areas.
