Current Events
COAACH’s ongoing events provide opportunities for community engagement, learning, and support. These include our Caregiver Education Series, support groups, and community wellness activities. For more information on any of the events here, call 336-285-3522.
- Purple Sunday: a faith-based health awareness initiative focused on Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, particularly within African American congregations.
- Lunch and Learns: an informal yet educational event format where participants gather during lunchtime to learn about a specific topic, often over a provided meal. It’s a great way to promote ongoing education and community engagement in a relaxed setting.
- Caregiver support series: a structured program designed to educate, empower, and encourage caregivers—especially those caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s, dementia, chronic illness, or disabilities. It provides practical tools, emotional support, and community connection through workshops, discussions, and resource sharing.

- March 20, 2-3 pm, Caregiver Support, we'll discuss Challenging Behaviors. Registration required.
- March 26, 11-1 pm. If you are a senior ministry or health ministry leader, join us in a roundtable discussion with Andrea Price, our partner from ALTER, Inspiring and Equipping Faith Communities on Dementia. Registration required.
- April 10, 2026, 12-1:30 pm. Lunch and Learn with Dr. Bethany Wangelin and Dr. Jenna Renfroe as they present, Brain Health Matters: The blueprint for your brain health: Cultivating resilience at any age! Registration required.
- April 17, 11-4 pm Community Health & Wellness Fair. There will be health screenings, caregiver support resources, brain health & healthy aging information, hands-only CPR training, free giveaways, free food, live music, Cone Health Mammogram van, and more. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required for the mammogram and CPR training.
