Student Government Association Elections

SGA Elections Committee

The mission of the Elections Committee is to provide a fair and open process by which students elect representatives to the Student Government Association/Class positions.  Students interested in running should attend an interest meeting at the beginning of the semester to learn about open positions.

The SGA general elections are held during the fall and spring via an online voting process.  A special election is held during the second week of the fall semester to fill vacancies of the SGA positions left from the general elections held in the spring.

How to Submit a Candidacy Application

The administrative portion of Student Government Elections will be administered via 1891Connect. If you do not have an account currently you will need to follow the steps below to do so:

To Create an 1891Connect Account

  1. Go to 1891Connect.
  2. To activate your 1891Connect account, you will utilize your OneID information.
  3. Once your account has been created, search for Elections Committee.

To Access the Candidacy Application

  1. Search for Elections Committee. (If prompted to join, please join and your request will be granted within 24 hours.)
  1. Under Forms search for SGA Election - Candidacy Application.
  2. Complete the candidacy Filing Form and Submit.
