The Aggie Housing Portal is used for students to apply for housing, view the status of the housing application, view the housing room selection tutorial, select room assignments and roommates, and view important updates about the housing process and move-in day.
Housing Process
The Aggie Housing Portal for Fall 2023 opened November 1, 2022! - Set yourself up for success by taking a moment to read this information from N.C. A&T Housing & Residence Life on the application and self-selection process and more.
Freshmen and new transfer students are required to follow these steps to ensure their housing selections:
Step 1: Students must be admitted and confirm their intent to enroll by May 1st (Please note that it takes 4-5 business days for your housing profile to be created so that you can submit your housing contract.)
Step 2: Students must register for a New Student Orientation (NSO). Please note that the housing self-selection process will occur after you have successfully completed the NSO.
Step 3: Housing applications should be completed by May 1 at 11:59 p.m. with a $175 non-refundable application fee.
Step 4: Students who decide to not attend North Carolina A&T State University may be released from their housing contract without penalty.
Step 5: Freshmen are allowed to select their room and roommate, on a first-come, first-served basis after completion of their New Student Orientation (NSO) through The Aggie Housing Portal
Step 6: Please be aware that housing contracts submitted after May 1 are subject to be placed in temporary housing (The Drury Inn), until on-campus housing options become available.
Housing announcements are made monthly through the Housing & Residence Life website and the Housing Portal. In addition, housing applicants will also receive emails from Housing & Residence Life to their NC A&T email (username@aggies.ncat.edu).

Housing portal reached capacity (March 3, 2023) – Within 48 hours N.C. A&T’s continuing student housing contracts were filled. We understand this was quicker than anticipated. We have created an extensive list of resources below to better assist you in successfully finding housing and moving off campus.

Set yourself up for success by taking a moment to read this information from N.C. A&T Housing & Residence Life on housing availability, the application and self-selection process, and more. With limited housing, the process will go quickly so start the process today! Housing is not guaranteed beyond your first year at NC A&T!
Continuing/Returning students (Those who already reside in university housing)
Upperclassmen must follow these steps to ensure their housing selections:
Step 1: Housing applications should be completed by the date of your assigned access to the housing portal with a $175 non-refundable application fee. The portal will close when we reach capacity.
Step 2: Please read and review the terms and conditions of your housing contract. More specifically, all university housing is to be free of lit candles and life safety equipment is not to be covered or tampered with (i.e., smoke detectors, etc.).
Step 3: Register for full-time classes (12 credits for undergraduate students or 9 credits for graduate students) from April 3, 2023, through April 24, 2023.
Step 4: Apartment/Room selection takes place from April 17, 2023 – April 28, 2023. Please note that in order to participate in apartment/room selection you may not have any holds on your student account.
Step 5: Over the summer there will be two purges for continuing students: Academic Dismissal/Suspensions and Financial Holds. Continuing students who are purged will permanently lose their housing assignment for the ‘23/’24 academic year.
Step 6: Complete mandatory apartment orientation prior to check-in (if you self-selected into an apartment).
Step 7: Check your username@aggies.ncat.edu email for your individual check-in date and time. Please note that you are unable to change your check-in date and time.
Step 8: Download and present your apartment orientation quiz certificate at check-in. You must pass an apartment orientation quiz before you can receive your keys.
Due to a limited number of spaces, housing is not guaranteed for continuing/returning students. Housing assignments are posted to the Housing Portal. In addition, housing applicants may also receive emails from Housing & Residence Life to their NCAT email.

Continuing/Returning Student Housing Self-Selection (April 17 – 28)
Make your housing selection on your assigned selection day! Rooms, suites and apartments will go quickly. As a reminder,
- you must have submitted a 2023-2024 housing contract,
- be enrolled full-time for Fall 2023, and be free of any financial holds.
- Sign into the Housing Portal to complete the process on your selection date and time. (University Owned Housing Facilities - Aggie Pointe, Preeminent Pointe, Campus Edge, Collegiate Commons, Sebastian Courtyard, Sebastian Place, Sebastian Village, University Landing, University Pointe, Aggie Suite E & F, Pride Hall, Blair Hall, McCain Hall, McNeil Hall and Richmond Hall)
Roommate/Apartment mate selection - will take place during your apartment/room selection date and time! Pick the best options for your future roommate.
Master lease housing spaces - available for those students who have a ‘23/’24 housing contract. (Campus East, Campus Crossing and The Edge).

- April 11, 2023 – Off-Campus Housing Fair, Deese Ballroom, 4 -7 p.m. (Apartment Complexes in the GSO area)
- April 24, 2023 - Adulting, Academic Classroom Building (ACB) Room 108 @ 6pm: The art of successfully moving off campus, budgeting, and being a good neighbor.
- May 1, 2023 - Adulting, Academic Classroom Building (ACB) Room 108 @ 6pm: The art of successfully moving off campus, budgeting, and being a good neighbor.
- May 5, 2023 – Off-Campus Housing Fair, Deese Ballroom (Tentative), 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Submitting a Housing Application
Use your Aggie Gmail credentials to log into the Aggie Housing Portal. You will complete the housing application with the non-refundable $175 application fee. On the application, please be sure to:
- Understand the Housing Release Penalty Fees
- Provide Co-Signer information (If applicable)
- Review Missing Persons Policy
- Provide Emergency Contact Information
- Digitally sign your Student Housing Contract
- View your roommate group pin created by Housing and Residence Life
- Pay $175 application fee*
*Application fee is non-refundable and students must pay each academic year.
Summer School
- View room rates and move in and out dates
- Provide room preferences (Single or Double Occupancy Room)
- Review Missing Persons Policy
- Provide Emergency Contact Information
- Digitally sign your Student Housing Contract
- Pay the $100 application fee*
*Application fee is non-refundable and students must pay each academic year.
