Proxy Access FAQs

Student FAQ

Proxy Access allows students to grant view-only access to common student records. Proxy Access may also allow students to authorize themselves for identity verification when discussing record details by phone (where applicable).

Using Proxy Access, students can grant view-only access to the following (sample list):

  • Account Summary
  • Tax Notification (e.g., 1098-T)
  • Financial Aid History
  • Financial Aid Award Package
  • Financial Aid Status
  • Student Grades (final grades only, if configured)
  • Student Holds
  • Student Profile
  • Student Schedule – Detail
  • Student Schedule – Week at a Glance

A proxy may be anyone the student wishes to grant access to: parents, guardians, spouses/partners, or other trusted individuals.

(Mock instructions — confirm exact Banner screen labels at NC A&T.)

In Proxy Management, choose Add New, enter your information, select the appropriate relationship, set a passphrase, select the authorizations you need, and submit.

Yes. Return to Proxy Management and click the proxy’s name to adjust authorizations, dates, or remove access.

Log in to Aggie Access / Self-Service → search “Proxy” → select “Manage Proxy Access” → click “Add New.”

Proxy/Guest FAQ

Current NC A&T students can grant proxy access through their student portal.

Your access is view-only and limited to what the student authorizes (see the list above).

Contact the student. Only the student can reset a proxy password or update the email address associated with proxy access.

When a reset occurs, you may receive a new temporary password and link, similar to initial setup.

Ask the student to review and update your authorizations. Some information may not be available through Proxy Access due to system limitations and policy.

No. Guests with proxy access are not able to make changes to student records or schedules.

Yes. Access is limited by system functionality, student authorizations, and University policy.

Examples of items not typically available include instructor feedback details, LMS content (e.g., Canvas assignments), tests/quizzes, and protected health records.
