The Center of Excellence for Social Justice in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences presents its Fall 2026 Scholar-in-Residence, Pierce Freelon.

Freelon will speak on "The Best Way to Predict the Future Is to Create It." Freelon is a GRAMMY®-nominated artist, author, and Afrofuturist creator working at the intersection of children’s media, music, and storytelling.

Spend the evening with Freelon as he examines how history creatively shapes identity while empowering attendees to think critically about the future and become architects of positive change in their communities.
