Key Criteria for Admission

Our admissions committee takes a broad range of factors into consideration when reviewing eligible applications, to include academic performance, direct patient care experience, health care experience, research, volunteerism, service, leadership, and alignment with university and program mission, vision and goals.

Admission requires a minimum overall 3.0 GPA and grade of “C” or better in all prerequisite courses. It is preferred that all courses be taken within seven years of applying to the PA program. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

Evidence of direct patient contact experience and healthcare experience is highly encouraged. Applicants must complete these hours by August 1 of the application cycle.

Applications are accepted between May 1st and September 1st for the following fall semester. All prerequisite courses must be completed by the date the application is submitted.

We do not offer advanced student placement or waive required or department courses for applicants to the Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program.
