OCS EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: DASHEAR HILL

Dashear HallDashear Hill is a graduating child development and family studies student with a concentration in child development and family relations, a cognate area in child health and a minor in biology. Her roles in the Office of Career Services consisted of front desk assistant and assisting OCS supervisors with various tasks. She was heavily involved in the Aggie community alongside her prominent role in OCS. As an employee of OCS, she was able to mobilize her time management skills to be involved in Couture modeling group, an internship and a second job during her academic tenure at A&T.

Dashear has used many of OCS’s resources such as the résumé drive, appointments for cover letter assistance, résumé and curriculum vitae (CV) critiques, mock interview and LinkedIn assistance. “Since I’m a student, I was encouraged to attend the events and resources that OCS offered,” she said.

She also adapted workforce and lifelong skills such as how to engage with employees, properly assist companies and effectively communicate solutions; enhance problem-solving skills; use Microsoft Office; and much more.

Her favorite aspect of working for OCS was the welcoming and nurturing environment OCS staff members create for their student employees. Hall plans to attend UNCG where she will become a part of its post-baccalaureate pre-med program, and continue to be a research assistant in the behavioral neuroscience laboratory in A&T’s Department of Psychology.
