Our office, as well as A&T, is committed to providing services and educational benefit programs for all eligible enrolled U.S. veterans, National Guardsmen, reservists and their eligible dependents.
Montgomery GI Bill ®- Active Duty (MGIB-AD), Chapter 30
(Detailed Information) (702 "Choice Act" Eligibility)
The MGIB program provides up to 36 months of educational benefits. This benefit may be used for degree and certificate programs, flight training, apprenticeship/on-the-job training, and correspondence courses. Remedial, deficiency and refresher courses may be approved under certain circumstances. Generally, benefits are payable for 10 years following your release from active duty. This program is also commonly known as Chapter 30.
Vocational Rehabilitation and Counseling, Chapter 31

Vocational Rehabilitation and Counseling is an employment program to assist eligible veterans and dependents with achieving maximum independence in their daily lives, restore their self-esteem and aid them in becoming a contributing part of society. Under the Vocational Rehabilitation Program, eligible veterans are assisted in selecting a rehabilitation goal and developing an individualized rehabilitation plan that leads to employment.

The Post 9/11 GI Bill®, Chapter 33

The Post-9/11 GI Bill® is for individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill®. The Post-9/11 GI Bill® will become effective for training on or after August 1, 2009.

Survivors/Dependents Educational Assistance Program (DEA), Chapter 35

DEA provides education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition, or who died while on active duty or as a result of a service-related condition. The program offers up to 45 months of educational benefits. If you are a spouse, you may take a correspondence course. Remedial and deficiency may be approved under certain circumstances.

Montgomery GI Bill® -Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR), Chapter 1606

The MGIB-SR program may be available to you if you are a member of the Selected Reserve. The Selected Reserve includes the Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve and Coast Guard Reserve, and the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard. This benefit may be used for degree and certificate programs, flight training, apprenticeship/on-the-job training, and correspondence courses. Remedial, deficiency and refresher courses may be approved under certain circumstances.

Change in Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP), Chapter 1607

The National Defense Authorization Act of 2016 ended REAP on November 25, 2015. Some individuals will remain eligible for REAP benefits until November 25, 2019, while others are no longer eligible for REAP benefits.
