Arlette Hawkins, SGA Secretary

Arlette Hawkins is a Senior Journalism & Mass Communications student with a minor in Spanish from Richmond, VA. She is the daughter of Rev. Otis Hawkins, Sr. and Constance Hawkins. Arlette has had the dream of serving as SGA secretary since serving as Sophomore Class Secretary during the 2016-2017 academic school year. This goal was challenged with her aspirations to study abroad during the Spring 2018 semester. Her campaign, “Its LOVE: Leading Observing Vibing and Educating” won the heart and minds of her fellow Aggies, earning her the position while overseas.

During her time at N.C. A&T Arlette has been very involved in her department by being active in organizations such as Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society, the honors program (Freshman Mentor), Aggie News & Views (Reporter, Anchor) , The A&T Register (Public Relations Director), and the Alpha Phi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Media Chair). Arlette finds the true joy through her involvement on campus and in mentoring freshman students and helping those in her major as someone once helped her.
