Carolina Panthers 

The Blue and Gold Marching Machine will be performing halftime for the Carolina Panthers vs Cincinnati Bengals game Sunday, September 23, 2018. Kickoff is at 1 pm.

Thank you for those who have sought interest in this year's homing coming parade. The application submission deadline was September 19th. For those band directors who have submitted your information, we will be in contact with you about the details of the parade and game day logistics. Parade Judges

Rodney Chambers

Rodney Chambers is a graduate of North Carolina A and T State University where he served as drumline captain and auxiliary coordinator of the University Blue & Gold Marching Machine. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in music. He has served as a clinician for several band camps throughout the eastern United States for over 25 years. As an adjudicator, he has served on panels judging in both corps and high-stepping marching bands. As an educator, he has taught several award-winning high school bands in the states of North Carolina Virginia and Washington DC.

His band at Paul Laurence Dunbar high school and Washington DC was the only high school band chosen from the states of Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC to be selected to perform at President Obama's first inaugural parade.

Currently, he is Executive Director of High Stepping Nationals, an organization that promotes music education and the performing arts in urban and minority school districts across the United States.

Christopher Thompson

Percussionist and Jazz Vibraphonist, Christopher Thompson is a diverse performer that is sure to entertain! He has electrified audiences internationally in venues such as London, Singapore, and the Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf, Germany, as well as throughout the United States. Chris is the founder and C.E.O. of M.A.P.S. (Motivational Arts, Performance, and Sound), an organization that teaches vision and purpose building through an inspirational performance of the arts. As a Motivational Performer, he currently travels to different churches, schools, and community programs, sharing his testimony and inspiring others to maximize their potential. Through his story, Chris creates a unique approach to relate to audiences of different ages and cultures, using compositions that blend Jazz, Classical, Hip-hop, and World music. Performing with groups like the Mondre Moffett Jazz Society and the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra, he continually expounds on the limits of genre and creates intercultural music.

Mr. Thompson has an extensive background in teaching and motivating youth. He currently serves as the newly appointed Director of Percussion Studies at High Point University, where he directs a comprehensive percussion program. Chris previously taught as the Percussion Instructor for the award-winning Blue Steel Drumline of Grimsley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. Serving as the Percussion Instructor for the B Natural Academy of Music and the Arts, Chris delivered a program that provides quality and affordable music lessons to underserved children in the Greensboro Community. Chris also taught as the Student Interventionist at the Allen Jay Preparatory Academy in High Point, NC.

Christopher has completed a Master’s degree in Percussion performance as well as a post-baccalaureate certificate in Jazz studies from the University of North Carolina Greensboro where he also served as Principal Percussionist for the University Symphony Orchestra. He is also a proud Alumnus of North Carolina A&T State University where he marched for the Blue and Gold Marching Machine and served as Drum Captain for the internationally acclaimed Cold Steel Drumline. While in undergrad, he joined the National Honorary Band Fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi and served as the Principal Percussionist for the HBCU Band National Directors’ Consortium All-Star band in Atlanta, Georgia

Sharon "Pat" Heidmann

Pat is known throughout the State of North Carolina and the Eastern United States as one of the top auxiliary coordinators in the country.

She holds a Bachelors of Science in Music Education from North Carolina Central University. Before retiring from Durham Public Schools in 2013, Pat served as the coordinator for Hillside High School's award-winning color guard for over 20 years. Under her leadership, the color guard won the national championship for outdoors and the indoor winter guard championship for high stepping high schools.

Currently, she serves as an event coordinator and an adjudicator for High Stepping Nationals Regional and National Contest.
