Health Insurance Requirement

Academic Year 2018 – 2019

N.C. A&T students who are taking 6 or more on-campus credit hours and all international students must provide proof of health insurance coverage in order to avoid having a BCBS Student Blue health insurance premium charged to their student account.

Students who do not provide verifiable health insurance information before the waiver deadline will be enrolled automatically in the UNC endorsed student health insurance plan and will be billed for the semester. The BCBS Student Blue health insurance policy is part of a UNC system-wide plan, negotiated each year through the insurance agent for the state of North Carolina.

Waiver deadline is September 10, 2018. If the deadline is missed, you will be charged for the Spring Student insurance premium.

Who is required to enroll in the UNC System student health insurance plan?

  • Are you enrolled in a minimum of 6 on-campus credit hours?
  • Are you required to pay the campus student health fee?

If you answered yes, do you have other health insurance coverage?

Note:  Outside health policies must have an effective date of no later than September 1, 2018 to be considered for a waiver.
