College Level Examination Program

The College Board, which develops the CLEP tests, describes the program as follows on their web site:

The College Level Examination Program® (CLEP) gives you the opportunity to receive college credit for what you already know by earning qualifying scores on any of its 33 examinations. Earn credit for knowledge you've acquired through independent study, prior course work, on-the-job training, professional development, cultural pursuits or internships.

Select CLEP tests may be applied towards studies at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Please visit the CLEP homepage for a list of exams accepted at North Carolina A&T State University. You may also visit the Undergraduate Bulletin for details of which tests meet N.C. A&T course requirements. 



$85 test fee [per test; due prior to examination date]

Registration & Scheduling

Registration for a CLEP testing session at North Carolina A&T may be initiated by completing the registration process on the CLEP web site. Time to take the exam can be scheduled by submitting the Scheduling Form and a receipt for the Counseling Services Examination Fee to Counseling Services. Instructions are provided in the downloadable form. Please note that under certain circumstances, potential examinees may reschedule testing sessions, but, cancellations WILL NOT be honored.
