2022 Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CSAM)
In recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CSAM), the Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research, Education and Outreach (CREO) and Information Technology Services (ITS) is planning a month-long campaign hosted by N.C. A&T State University and partners. Throughout the month, join us for several related activities designed to bring attention to the importance of cybersecurity. We will also highlight the excellent FREE cybersecurity education opportunities our industry partners, such as the IBM Academic Initiative, have developed for NC A&T students, faculty, and staff that are accessible all year round.
AGGIE Shred and Electronic Recycling Day
The university’s Information Technology Services, Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research, Education and Outreach, and Waste Management Institute are partnering to offer this free event to employees, students, and the surrounding community.
Securely dispose of unwanted documents such as old homework assignments, medical records, tax returns, bank statements and canceled checks, as well as electronic items such as but not limited to phones, computer, tablets, hard drives, thumb drives, CDs, monitors, televisions, radios, printers, cables and wires, keyboard, laptops, batteries and household appliances in an environmentally friendly way.
A&T employees will be allowed to dispose of university documents, personal documents and personal electronics, but disposal of A&T electronics is prohibited.
Anyone disposing of documents is asked to remove paper from binders and remove any binder clips and paper clips.
Disposal of the items collected at this event is being handled by Shred-it and Powerhouse Recycling.
When: Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 9 AM to 12 Noon

Welcome to the 3rd year of this event! Show what you know about events, threats, IT policies, and safety that helps you protect yourself and the university. Be the first person to answer trivia cybersecurity questions correctly and win prizes!
When: Monday, October 17 thru Friday, October 21
- Only current N.C. A&T employees and students can participate.
- N.C. A&T employees and students must allow tagging and direct messaging or forfeit ability to win.
- Participants must answer the questions correctly on Twitter and include #NCATBeCyberSmart in your answer. Answers must be spelled correctly to win.

Cybersecurity Training
ITS will launch the fourth year of annual mandatory training for SHRA employees. The self-paced online training is one of the IT resources that helps employees in their roles as human firewalls protect university information and the hardware and software resources used to store, process, or transmit that information. Topics include IT policies, common threats, social engineering, phishing, and mobile device security. Prizes will be available for employees to win.

CyberBiz: Cybersecurity Workshop for Business Entrepreneurs
Shift your cybersecurity strategy from reactive to proactive. Don't wait for the hackers to come to you. We invite our entreprenureal minded NC A&T students, faculty, and staff to join local small and medium sized businesses at this FREE cybersecurity workshop. Cybersecurity professionals will detail what businesses need to create a strong holistic security strategy to keep your assets safe and stay ahead of cyber threats.
When: Friday, October 21 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Where: The Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering
For: Small-medium sized businesses/Local Businesses & NC A&T community
