Wells Fargo representatives awarded North Carolina A&T State University a $200,000 grant earmarked for student scholarships, Tuesday, June 24.

Juan Austin, senior vice president at Wells Fargo Foundation and Leslie Hayes, Wells Fargo, Triad West Region president, presented the check to Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr. and his leadership team.

“We are extremely excited about the opportunity to partner with Wells Fargo in providing scholarships to the well deserving and highly qualified students at North Carolina A&T,” said Chancellor Martin.

Dorian Davis, student government association president and Robert Alston, graduate student, participated in the presentation. The $200,000 grant will be split between two newly created endowment funds for undergraduate and graduate student scholarships.

The Wells Fargo Chancellor Distinguished Student Scholar Endowment Fund will receive $100,000. The purpose of endowment fund is to provide merit-based financial assistance for high achieving undergraduate students attending the university and can be used for tuition, fees, books, and housing. The Wells Fargo Chancellor Distinguished Graduate Fellow Endowment Fund will also receive $100,000. The graduate fellow endowment fund will provide merit-based financial assistance for high achieving graduate students entering into a master’s or doctoral.
