Since 2007, Forbes has partnered exclusively with the Center for Affordability and Productivity to secure the most current and reliable data on colleges and universities to use for ranking. Using 12 categories, Forbes offers an exhaustive measurement system that calculates all facets of the collegiate system from retention rates to post-graduate success.

“We are honored to be mentioned by Forbes in this year’s Top American Colleges list,” said Chancellor Harold L. Martin, Sr. “As we advance towards the goals of Preeminence 2020—our long-term strategic plan, we will continue to step boldly into the accomplishments of our future all while building on the foundation of today.”

Forbes was established in 1917 as an affluent business magazine and since has acquired a print, digital and mobile presence.
