Godfrey A. Uzochukwu, professor and director of the Interdisciplinary Waste Management Institute at North Carolina A&T, has been invited to participate in the prestigious Oxford Round Table March 18-22, at the Harris Manchester College of the University of Oxford in England.

Uzochukwu will join collaborative, friendly and interdisciplinary scholars who have an interest in environment and climate change. He will present a paper titled "The Impact of Global Warming on North Carolina."

There is a global consensus among scientists that humans are contributing to the increasing emission of greenhouse gases that pose a threat to land, humans and vegetation. Uzochukwu will discuss the evidence of global warming and potential impacts on the citizens, natural resources, agriculture and economy of North Carolina.

It has been documented that planting zones are shifting in North Carolina. Uzochukwu was a member of the North Carolina Legislative Commission on Global Climate Change for five years. He also served as the chairman for the UNC Tomorrow Environment Work Group at N.C. A&T for one year. He is looking forward to going back to college in England.
