Timothy I. Johnson III, MPA, has been named emergency management coordinator for North Carolina A&T State University.  Johnson has over 12 years of emergency management experience and has responded to over 22 disasters in eight states.  He has served as an ongoing technical advisor for the development of multiple long-term recovery operations throughout the southeastern United States.

Prior to coming to A&T, Johnson served as an emergency management planner for the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management, where he coordinated response missions for human services related to sheltering and mass feeding.  He has worked at Community Partnerships Inc., Church World Service –Emergency Response Program and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer/Research Center-Project Praise. 

Johnson received his B.S. degree in psychology and education from the University of Southern Mississippi and his M.S. degree in public administration from Troy State University.
