Tennie Named Admissions Director at North Carolina A&T

EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Dec. 21, 2018) – Jameia Tennie has been appointed director of Undergraduate Admissions at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

Tennie has worked at North Carolina A&T since 2012, most recently as the interim director of Undergraduate Admissions.

“Jameia has shown tremendous leadership as interim director,” said Jacqueline Powers, interim associate vice provost of Enrollment Management. “She has worked tirelessly to help the university achieve enrollment goals that we have met and exceeded, and I look forward to her continued efforts.”

Tennie began at N.C. A&T as an academic excellence coordinator, managing departmental retention efforts. She was subsequently promoted to assistant director of Transfer Admissions where she evaluated transfer recruitment efforts to achieve enrollment goals.

She later served as senior associate director of Undergraduate Admissions where she led collaborative recruitment programming and developed initiatives to support the university’s strategic goals, including enhanced STEM and rural recruitment objectives.

She currently sits on Community College Transfer Advisory Boards for several community colleges and serves as a board member with the College Transfer Program Association.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hampton University and her master’s in Adult Education from N.C. A&T.
