English Dept. at N.C. A&T Continues Adobe Systems Partnership

EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Oct. 2, 2018) – The Department of English at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will continue its partnership with Adobe Systems, Inc., to provide students in the technical writing concentration with access to the Adobe Technical Communication Suite.

Students majoring in English with a concentration in technical writing have been using the software to assist them with gaining a competitive edge as they prepare to enter the field of technical and professional communication.

“This ongoing relationship is integral to the development of our program. Having access to industry standard software makes all the difference in providing students with both theoretical and practical application skills. Now that we have new equipment in our lab, both the students and I are excited about this academic year and the possibilities,” said Kimberly Harper, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of English.

Adobe’s donation of 35 licenses allows Harper and Professor Veloisa Marsh to focus their efforts on curriculum redesign and recruitment.

“Knowing that we can offer incoming students the opportunity to use this software helps with our recruitment efforts,” said Marsh. “We can tell students that, while we are a small program, we offer access to software such as Robohelp, Framemaker, Captivate, Acrobat Pro, and Presenter.”
